A few hints for radio station websites

For a while now, part of my days have been the slightly boringly thankless task of adding telephone numbers and addresses to selected entries within Media UK, for the forthcoming Media UK Radio Pocketbook. I’ve got to “P”, incidentally. Not long now.

Much of the updates have been to the less popular stations in the directory: community, hospital and internet radio stations in particular. These are some of the least polished websites around – and goodness, some are quite awful. I’ve found one which is a large image of what their website would look like had they finished it – complete with non-working navigation. The only working link was a “listen now”: the rest did nothing. (The website was also way too wide for my screen).

So, given that I’ve unwittingly undertaken quite a wholesale review of websites for radio, could I recommend the following?
